Ukhiya Rohingya camp catches fire again

A Rohingya camp in Ukhiya upazila of Cox's Bazar caught fire again on Saturday afternoon.

The fire broke out at Kathal Gastala Bazar of 13 no. camp around 12:45 pm, said Ukhiya Police Station officer in-charge Md Shamim Hossain.

Trained volunteers, Fire Service, and police personnel were working to douse the blaze, he added.

Kamal Hossain, deputy assistant director of Ukhiya Fire Service, said three units of firefighters were trying to bring the fire under control.

However, the fire's origin could not be known yet, he said, adding that they will look into the matter.

Earlier on May 24, a fire gutted more than 300 houses in the same camp.
