PM to visit cyclone Remal-hit Patuakhali on Thursday

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will visit the cyclone Remal-hit Kolapara upazila in Patuakhali on Thursday to inspect the overall situation.

Deputy Commissioner of the district Md Nur Kutubul Alam confirmed the matter to Jago News on Tuesday noon.

He said the Prime Minister will visit Patuakhali on May 30. We are working on the PM’s visit. 

The Deputy Commissioner said as many as 327,000 people have been affected by the cyclone in the district. A total of 235 houses have been destroyed completely while 1,865 houses damaged partially in the cyclone. Besides the agriculture sector suffered a loss of Tk 26.21 crore. The loss of the fishery sector is Tk 28.69 crore.
