Second Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrim dies in Saudi Arabia

Another Bangladeshi hajj pilgrim has died in Saudi Arabia, according to the Hajj management portal of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Md Mostofa, 89, passed away in Mecca on Saturday. His passport number is “EG0740847”. 

The reason of his death could not be known immediately.

Mostofa is the second Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrim to breathe his last in Saudi Arabia this year. The other Hajj pilgrim Md Asaduzzaman died in the KSA on May 15.

Hajj flights from Bangladesh started on May 9. 

A total of 86,257 pilgrims will perform hajj from Bangladesh this year. Of them, 28,760 people reached Saudi Arabia till 2am on Sunday. 

The holy Hajj will be held on June 16, 2024 (9 Zilhajj of 1445 Hijri) subject to the sighting of the moon.
