2 UPDF members shot dead in Rangamati

Two members of United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF-Prasit) were shot dead by Jana Sanghati Samiti (JSS-Santu Larma) group in Rangamati on Saturday morning.

The incident took place at Monpoti area at Langadu union in Langadu upazila at 9am. 

The deceased were identified as Tinak Chakma, 50, and Dhanyamoti Chakma, 40. 

Police and witnesses said 10-12 members of JSS-Santu Larma swooped on UPDF-Prasit group members and shot two people dead on the spot.

Confirming the matter to Jago News, Langadu Circle Assistant Superintendent of Police Md Abdul Awal said as the area is very remote, it will take time for the police to reach the spot. Details will be known after the police returns from the scene.
