Joypurhat Jamaat chief arrested

Police in a drive held Jamaat chief of Jopurhat district unit who is accused in different cases including arson case from Biswas area of the district at 12pm on Saturday.

The detainee is Ataur Rahman, son of late Shamsuddin Mondol, of village Dugur under the sadar upzila.

‘Acting on a tip-off, a team of police arrested Ataur from a house of one Malek, said officer-in-charge of Joypurhat Police Station Farida Hosen.

Ataur was absconding for a long, he added.
