RU student dies from snakebite

A student of Rajshahi University (RU) has died from snakebite in Rajshahi city.

Dead Shakinur Rahman Sabbir was a student of the 2016-17 academic session of the Psychology Department and hailed from Charghat upazila of the district.

A Russell's viper snake, locally known as Chandrabora, bit Sabbir while gossiping with a few friends on the bank of Padma River adjacent to Moktar Bazar on Sunday evening, his friend Rakibul Islam Bipul told Jago News. 

Later, he was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, and on the following day, he died in the Intensive Care Unit of the facility.

Psychology Dept Professor Dr Enamul Haque expressed profound shock at the death of Sabbir and sought pardon for his departed soul.
