Trawler capsize in Rajbari: 5 bodies recovered

Police on Saturday recovered the bodies of five people, who went missing after a trawler capsized in the Padma River in Rajbari.

The victims Halimon, 60, wife of Akbar Sheikh, his daughter Farida, Begum, 37, daughter of Rokon Sheikh, Raju, 8, and Rahul, 5, were the inhabitants of pangsa upazila in the district. 

Nure Alam Fakir, officer-in-charge of Kalukhali Police Station, said five people went missing when the trawler carrying at least 20 passengers sank in Harinbaria Bazar area of Kalukhali upazila around 6pm on Friday.

The trawler was heading for Sadarchar from Harinbaria Bazar, the OC said.
