Milton Samadder put on 3-day remand
A court in Dhaka has placed Child & Old Age Care chairman Milton Samadder on a three-day remand in a case filed for allegedly giving fake death certificates of dead persons at the care home.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain passed the order on Thursday after police had produced him before the court, seeking a seven-day remand for fair investigation.
Earlier on Wednesday night, the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested him in a drive in the capital Dhaka's Mirpur area.
After the arrest, Additional Commissioner and DB chief Mohammad Harun Or Rashid said Milton Samadder, a familiar face in social media for humanitarian works, was apprehended based on various allegations, including embezzling money collected for helpless people whom he gave shelter and stealing their kidneys.
Today, two separate cases were filed against him with Mirpur Model Police Station in the capital for allegedly making fake death certificates and beating up people in the 'torture cell' of the care home.
