DMCH employee dies after falling ill amid extreme heat

An employee of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) has died after suddenly falling sick amid extreme heat in Dhaka.

Dead Md Hanif Mia, 40, lived in a rented house in Rayerbag area of the capital and hailed from Puran Gaunia village in Gazaria upazila of Munshiganj.

Md Sahid Mia, master of DMCH's Emergency Department, told Jago News that Hanif Mia returned home on Wednesday morning after duty on the third floor (cabin block) of the old building of the hospital. 

He was brought to Dhaka Medical College Hospital this afternoon following he had suddenly fallen sick amid extreme heat and the on-duty doctors, later, declared him dead, Sahid Mia added. 

Confirming the matter, DMCH Police Camp in-charge inspector Md Bachchu Mia said they initially learned that the man died from extreme heat but the actual causes of the death will be known after an autopsy report.
