Dhaka Sub-Editors Council president Muktadir, secretary Zauhar

The Dhaka Sub-Editors Council (DSEC) has elected Muktadir Anik and Zauhar Iqbal as its president and general secretary respectively.

Muktadir bagged 359 votes while his nearest rival KM Shahidul Haque got 232 and Zauhar secured 497 votes while his nearest contender Kabir Alamgir got 316. 

Besides, Shahid Rana became organizing secretary, Ali Imam Sumon vice president, Monir Ahmed Zarif joint general secretary, Nazim-ud-Daula treasurer, Zafrul Alam office secretary, Arif Ahmed publicity and publication secretary, Tareque Hossain Bappy training and research secretary, Nahid Hossain sports and culture affairs secretary, Safayet Hossain welfare secretary, and Farhana Naznin (Flora) of the Dhaka-based journalist organization.

Shamsul Alam Setu, Anzuman Ara Shilpi, Anzuman Ara Moon, Jesmin Zahan, Tanzimul Nayan, Mashreka Zahan, and Mohammad Abu Yusuf were elected executive members.

The results were announced on Tuesday. Earlier, the voting was held from this morning to this afternoon in a festive mood.
