2 Bangladeshis shot dead in New York
Two Bangladeshi expatriates were shot dead by the miscreants in the city of Buffalo in the US state of New York at 12:30pm on Saturday (local time).
The deceased were identified as Babul Uddin, from Cumilla, and Yusuf Mia, from Sylhet.
The incident occurred when Babul was renovating his house on the 100 block of Zenner and Kilhoffer Street. Yusuf was with him at that time.
On information, local police and a SWAT unit rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area. Later, the two Bangladeshis were taken to a hospital where the doctors on duty declared them dead.
Police could not arrest anyone yet in the incident.
The bodies will be handed over to their family members on Monday after completion of autopsy.
However, local Bangladeshi expatriates identified the bodies of two people. Babul went to Buffalo from Virginia eight months ago. Yusuf Mia went to the USA from Sylhet four months back.
Buffalo’s community activist Habib Rahman said the incident took place when Babul along with Yusuf was renovating his house. Babul has seven children. Yusuf has two children and his wife is pregnant. We want proper investigation and justice of the incident.
