46 more Myanmar BGP members take shelter in Bangladesh

Forty-six more members of Border Guard Police (BGP) of Myanmar have taken shelter in Bangladesh amid the constant fighting between the Myanmar army and the rebel Arakan Army along the border.

Shariful Islam, Public Relations Officer at Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) Headquarters, confirmed the matter to Jago News on Wednesday morning. 

He said forty-six more BGP members took refuge in the country on Tuesday night. With this, a total of 260 officials are currently staying in Bangladesh. 

On February 15, a total of 330 members of Myanmar government forces including BGP, who took refuge in Bangladesh during the conflict in the border areas, were sent back.

Of them, 302 were BGP members, four were family members of the BGP personnel, 18 were immigration members, two were army members and four were civilians.
