12 more Myanmar BGP members flee into Bangladesh
Twelve members of Myanmar's Border Guard Police (BGP) crossed into Bangladesh through Bandarban border on Tuesday morning for shelter.
They fled into Bangladesh through Ashartali, and Jamchhari borders under Sadar union, and Rezu border under Ghumdhum union in Naikhongchari upazila.
Shariful Islam, public relations officer of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), confirmed the matter.
Local sources said the fleeing Myanmar border guards were kept under the custody of BGB.
Earlier on Sunday, nine members of Myanmar's Border Guard Police took refuge in Bangladesh amid the constant fighting between the Myanmar army and the rebel Arakan Army along the border.
