Hasan hands over auto-rickshaw to family of deceased driver Sabur
Foreign Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud has provided a new CNG-run auto-rickshaw to the family of Abdus Sabur of Satkania, who was killed in a cylinder explosion of his own auto-rickshaw in Chandnaish in the district on March 25, reports BSS.
The foreign minister's wife Nooran Fatima on Monday handed over the keys of the CNG auto-rickshaw to Rumi Akhtar, wife of deceased CMG driver Abdus Sabur, on behalf of NNK Foundation, a Charity firm of the Foreign Minister also the joint general secretary of Bangladesh Awami League at Dewanjee Pukur par area in Chattogram.
Khaled Mahmud, younger brother Dr Hasan Mahmud, Emrul Karim Rashed, the personal officer of the foreign minister, Riduanul Islam Sumon, chairman of Paschim Dhemsha Union of Satkania Upazila, UP member Nashir Uddin and the deceased's mother and two children were present while receiving key.
Nooran Fatima said the Foreign Minister himself became emotional after seeing the news of CNG driver Sabur being burnt alive into his CNG.
"He thinks the victim's family needs a way to survive. So a new CNG was bought and handed over to them today," She added.
NNK Foundation Chairman Khaled Mahmud said, we provide humanitarian aid to in different areas including Rangunia from our family charity NNK Foundation.
"The death of Sabur in West Dhemsha of Satkania has shocked the whole country. The family is destitute today. That's why we tried to stand beside them," he added.
Abdus Sabur, 35, a CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver was killed as the gas cylinder of his vehicle exploded in Chandanaish upazila on March 25. He left behind, his mother, wife, and two children.
