3 killed as private car, bus collide in Bogura

Three people were killed and two others injured as private car collided head-on with a bus in Bogura on Saturday morning.

The accident took place on Naogaon-Bogura regional highway in front of Erulia High School around 10:30am. 

The deceased were identified as Faim, 55, Joint Secretary of Bogura District Motor Workers’ Union, Abdul Hannan, 44 and Algir Hossain, 42.

The bodies of the deceased were sent to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital morgue. 

A witness named Abul Kalam said the accident occurred when the private was overtaking a truck.

Mizanur Rahman, Sub Inspector of Bogura Sadar Police Station, said the Naogaon-bound private car collided head-on with the bus coming from opposite direction while it was trying to overtake the truck. At that time, three people died on the spot and two others were injured.
