Bangladeshi shot dead by BSF on Chapainawabganj border

A Bangladeshi national was killed and another injured when India’s Border Security Force (BSF) members opened fire along the Rukonpur border at Gomostapur upazila in Chapainawabganj on Tuesday morning. 

The deceased was identified as Saiful Islam, 30, son of Hasan Ali alias Jhoro Ghosh, of Nagarpara area at Radhanagar union in the upazila.

The injured is Raju Islam, 25.

Locals said a patrolling team of 159 BSF Battalion opened fire when Saiful and his some classmates entered India to bring cattle. At that time, Saiful died on the spot and his body was taken into custody by the BSF.

Radhanagar Union Parishad Chairman Motiur Rahman confirmed the matter.

He said a man named Saiful was shot dead by the BSF when he entered India to bring cattle. 

Naogaon’s Rukonpur BOP Commander Naib Subedar Azad Rahman said we have got the information that one Bangladeshi was killed in border area.
