Jubo League leader hacked dead in Jashore
A local leader of Jubo League was hacked to death by miscreants in Sadar upazila of Jashore on Thursday night over previous enmity.
Dead Shimul Hossain, 40, was the general secretary of 8 no. ward unit Jubo League under Churamonkati union, and son of Moklesur Rahman, a resident of Gobila village in the upazila.
Shimul's brother Ashraf Hossain said four/five people, including Bulbul, hacked Shimul in front of Tarikul Islam's home in Gobila village around 9:30 pm when he was returning home after performing Taraweeh prayer in a mosque, leaving him seriously injured.
Locals, later, took him to Jashore General Hospital where he died, Ashraf said.
He also said his brother had a previous enmity with four/five people, including Bulbul, and they murdered him finding him alone at night.
Mofizul Islam, sub-inspector of the Police's Detective Branch, Jashore said it was primarily learned that the man was hacked to death over establishing supremacy and previous hostility.
Police began an investigation over the killing, and drive to apprehend those involved in the incident, he added.
