Four burnt in Malibagh gas cylinder blast

Four people suffered burn injuries in a gas cylinder explosion in a hotel at Malibagh of Dhaka on Wednesday evening.

The injured are Abdul Hannan, 40, Md Sabuj, 24, Md Maruf, 16, and Md Zulhas, 18. They all except Abdul Hannan are employees of the hotel.

The incident occurred at Shahjalal Hotel at Malibagh intersection.

After the blast, the injured were admitted to the Burn and Plastic Surgery unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), and Sheikh Hasina Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

DMCH Police Camp in-charge Md Bachchu Mia said three people with burn injuries were brought to the burn unit of the facility and they were admitted.

Quoting the on-duty doctors, Bachchu Mia said all of them sustained burn injuries in their hands, mouths, and legs and they are not out of danger.
