Kindergarten teacher hacked dead in Cumilla

A kindergarten teacher has been hacked to death in a coaching center in Sadar Dakshin upazila of Cumilla.

Dead Golam Rasul Liton, 48, was a resident of Nalkuri village and teacher of a local kindergarten. He also taught in a coaching center beside home.

Locals said Safayat Ali, 36, a resident of the village and an alleged drug addict, entered the coaching center on Wednesday evening and hacked Liton mercilessly when he was teaching there, leaving him dead on the spot.

Later, police in association with locals detained Safayat in this connection.

Sadar Dakshin Model Police Station officer in-charge Mohammad Alamgir Bhuiyan said police recovered the body and sent it to Comilla Medical College Hospital morgue.

Detained Safayat was being questioned to know the reasons behind the murder, he said.
