Islamic speaker Lutfar Rahman dies

Islamic speaker Mawlana Lutfar Rahman passed away in a hospital in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon.

He breathed his last around 3 pm while undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Ibn Sina Hospital, his son-in-law Abdullah Mahmud confirmed.

He said, "My father-in-law died before a while. We urge all to pray for the forgiveness of his soul."

Earlier on February 14, he was taken to Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital after he had fallen sick. The on-duty doctors there had said he suffered a brain stroke.

Later, he was taken to Dhaka for better treatment.

Born in Badarpur village of Ramganj upazila in Lakshmipur, Mawlana Lutfar Rahman left behind five daughters, two sons, and numerous well-wishers.

The central president of Bangladesh Majlisul Mufassirin was the principal of Rajkhali Alia Madrasa for a long.
