Bailey Road fire: Kacchi Bhai's manager remanded

Four people, including Kacchi Bhai restaurant's manager, have been put on a two-day remand over the fire in a building on Dhaka's Bailey Road that claimed 46 lives.

Those remanded are Kachhi Bhai restaurant manager Jisan, Cha Chumuk tea stall owners Anwarul Haque and Shakil Ahmed Rimon, and Hamimul Haque Bipul, manager of the building, Green Cozy Cottage.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Nurul Huda Chowdhury passed the order on Saturday after police had produced them before the court, seeking remand.

Earlier on Thursday night, a deadly fire broke out at Green Cozy Cottage building on the capital's Bailey Road, leaving 46 people, so far, dead and many others injured.

On Friday, police filed a case with Ramna Police Station on the charge of causing death by negligence.
