488 cops get IGP badge

A total of 488 police members were awarded “IGP’s Exemplary Good Service Badge” on Wednesday in recognition of their performance in the last one year.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun handed over the award to them on the second day of Police Week-2024.

The IGP also handed over the certificate to each awardee during the programme, held at Rajarbagh Police Lines grounds in the capital.

Earlier on Tuesday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Police Week at Rajarbagh Police Lines.

The theme of this year's Police Week is ‘Smart police, smart country, Bangladesh is of peace and progress’.

The premier also awarded thirty-five policemen Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM-bravery) and 60 others President Police Medal (PPM-bravery) in recognition of their courageous work.

In addition, 95 policemen got BPM service medal while 210 PPM service medal as well.
