Amar Ekushey Book Fair extended till March 2

The duration of the ongoing Amar Ekushey Book Fair, scheduled to end on February 29, has been extended until March 2.

The Ministry of Cultural Affairs Secretary Khalil Ahmed confirmed the matter to the media on Tuesday night.  

He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave an approval to extend the duration of the book fair.

Bangla Academy Director General Muhammad Nurul Huda announced the time extension at the announcement centre of the book fair around 9pm. 

The fair will continue till Saturday, with special permission granted by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he said.

Earlier on February 18, Bangladesh Book Publishers and Sellers Association (BAPUS) sent a letter to the Bangla Academy to extend the book fair by two days.
