President, PM pay homage to BDR carnage martyrs

The representatives of President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have paid rich tribute to the martyrs of BDR carnage.

On behalf of President Mohammed Shahabuddin, his Military Secretary Major General S M Salah Uddin Islam and on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her Military Secretary Major General Kabir Ahmmed placed the wreaths on Sunday.

Besides, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, chiefs of the three forces - Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Nazmul Hasan and Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh Air Force Air Chief Marshal Shaikh Abdul Hannan and close relatives of the martyrs also placed wreaths at graves of the victims.  

The fifth anniversary of BDR carnage is being observed today commemorating the February 25-26 brutal killings at BDR (now BGB) headquarters in Pilkhana where 74 people, including 57 army officers, were killed in 2009.
