RAB arrests 38 'members' of teen gangs
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested 38 suspected members of different teen gangs from the capital Dhaka, and Gazipur.
They were apprehended in drives conducted in Banani, Mohakhali, Uttara, and Tongi areas along with 500 grams of hemp, 24 mobiles, an ax, five rods, 16 knives, a hammer, a blade, etc.
Commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Mostaq Ahmed of RAB-1 said this in a press conference at its office in Uttara on Friday afternoon.
The arrestees belonged to various groups, including 007, Jaura, Baba, High Voltage, D Company, and Zahangir.
They admitted to being involved in the scuffle, occupying, snatching, robbery, etc. offenses in exchange for money, he said.
On information gleaned from the arrestees, 17 of them are accused of theft, snatching, extortion, drug, arms, rape and murder attempts, etc. cases.
