Two get life in C'nawabganj schoolboy murder

A court in Chapainawabganj on Tuesday sentenced two people to life-term imprisonment for the murder of a schoolboy.

The lifers are Rubel Hossain alias Abir, and Hazrat Ali, residents of Shrirampur area of Nachol upazila.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Rabiul Islam delivered the verdict, the court's assistant public prosecutor (APP) Rabiul Islam confirmed.

The court also fined Tk 10,000 each, and in deafult, they will have to serve six months more in prison.

The court statement said victim Tajemul Haque would operate an auto-rickshaw beside the study. The accused hired his auto-rickshaw on November 19, 2020, to bring paddy on the vehicle.

After roaming around different areas, they took Tajemul to an under-construction building at Chinsalla village in the upazila and hit him with brick, leaving him dead.

Later, his grandfather (maternal) Abdul Awahab filed a case with Nachol Police Station in this connection.
