PM inagurates 11 new medical colleges

Eleven new medical colleges start their operation on Saturday. Amongst those 6 are operated by government and the rest 5 are by Bangladesh Army. 

On the occasion of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman`s Homecoming Day, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganabhaban at 10 am inagurated the admission process of the 11 new medical colleges for MBBS session 2015-16.

The 6 new public medical colleges are in Tangail, Sirajganj, Manikganj, Jamalpur, Patuakhali and Rangamati. The rest 5 operated by Bangladesh Army are situated in Chittagong, Jessore, Comilla, Rangpur and Bogra cantonment. 

PM emphasised on serving people over making money while inagurating the colleges. She also promised to establish medical university in all the divisional cities.

With this new addition, total number of public medical colleges in Bangladesh is 29 now. On the other hand, Bangladesh Army operated medical colleges are now 6 in total. Besides, there are 63 private medical colleges running their operation in Bangladesh.
