101 Bangladeshis held in Malaysia
Malaysia's immigration police have detained as many as 134 illegal workers, including 101 Bangladeshi nationals.
Among other detainees, 26 are from Indonesia, six from Myanmar, and one from Nepal. They are 25-48 years old.
They were detained in drives conducted based on public complaints and intelligence information on the arrival of foreigners, Melaka Immigration director Anirwan Fauzee Mohd Aini said in a statement on Thursday.
The allegations against them include not having personal identification documents, overstaying, keeping fake documents, and violating the Immigration Act, the official added.
The Immigration police also detained 490 illegal migrants in another operation an apartment at Jalan Aman Perdana in Selangor state but it could not be confirmed how many Bangladeshis are among them.
