Mild to moderate cold wave sweeping over capital and parts of country
Mild to moderate cold wave is sweeping over Dhaka, Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions and the districts of Moulvibazar, Cumilla, Feni, Jashore, Chuadanga, Barishal and Bhola and it may abate from some places.
Weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country, said the met office forecast for the next 24 hours commencing from 9 am on Monday.
Moderate to thick fog may occur over the river basins and light to moderate fog elsewhere over the country from midnight to morning. Inland river transport may be disrupted temporarily due to thick fog.
Country's maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 28.0 degrees Celsius at Sitakunda and minimum temperature today was recorded 05.7 degrees Celsius at Dinajpur.
Ridge of sub-continental high extends up to West Bengal and adjoining Northwestern part of Bangladesh. Seasonal low lies over South Bay, extending its trough to North Bay.
Night temperature may rise slightly and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
