Couple's bodies recovered in Noakhali

Police recovered the bodies of a man and his wife in Maijdee of Noakhali on Monday morning.

The deceased were Mehidy Hasan Shuvo, 22, son of Dulal Mia, a resident of Dadpur union under Sadar upazila, and his wife Tamanna Islam Pinu, 16.

The bodies were retrieved from a rented house at Bashundhara colony in Noakhali municipality.

Locals said Tamanna's brother Hossain Ahmed Noman dialed the national emergency number 999 not hearing any sound from her and Shuvo's room. Later, police came to the spot and recovered the bodies.

Family sources said Shuvo and Tamanna are cousins (maternal) and got married around a year ago. After marriage, they lived with Tamanna's mother and brother at Bashundhara colony.

It is assumed that Shuvo first slit the throat of Tamanna and then, killed himself over family conflict.
