Alesha Mart chairman, wife jailed for 6 months

E-commerce platform Alesha Mart chairman Manjurul Alam Sikder and his wife Sabia Chowdhury have been jailed for six months in a check dishonor case.
Judge Tasruzzaman of Dhaka Second Joint Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court handed down the verdict on Thursday.
The court also fined them Tk 3.46 lakh.
Nikunja Bihari Acharhya, lawyer for the plaintiff, confirmed the matter to Jago News.
Manjurul Alam was recently arrested from Banani in the capital. Police said he is wanted in more than 100 cases.
