EC plans to hold UP polls from April

The Election Commission (EC) plans to hold the upazila parishad election from the last week of April to the last week of May.

Election Commissioner Md Alamgir said this in reply to a query from the journalists at Nirbachan Bhaban at Agargaon in the capital Dhaka on Tuesday.

He said, "We are taking preparation to start the upazila election from the last week of April and finish it in the last week of May."

The EC said the polls can be held through ballot or Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) or both means.
