DGHS seeks info on all unlicensed pvt hospitals, clinics
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has instructed all departmental health directors and civil surgeons to provide information on all unlicensed private hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centres and blood banks in the country within seven days.
Dr Abu Hossain Mohammad Moinul Ahsan, Director of the DGHS’s hospitals and clinics department, issued an order in this regard on Monday.

“The list of unlicensed private hospitals or clinics, diagnostic centres and blood banks located in the area under your control should be sent within seven working days,” said the order.
Earlier on Sunday, the DGHS ordered the closure of United Medical College Hospital in the capital’s Badda for operating illegally, without any licence.
The move comes following the death of five-year-old Ayaan after a circumcision procedure by the hospital doctors recently.
