2 killed as truck collides with motorbike

Two people were killed as a truck collided head-on with a motorbike in Tangail on Sunday morning.

The accident took place on Sheikh Hasina Bridge at Kedarpur area under Mokna union in Nagarpur upazila.   

The deceased were identified as Shakil Ahmed, 19, son of Amor Setab Ali of Shunshi village and Masum Miah, 19, son of Adam Ali of Kolmaid village in the upazila. 

Quoting locals, Motasir Billah, Sub Inspector of Nagarpur Police Station, said the accident occurred due to poor visibility caused by dense fog. The two riders of the motorcycle died on the spot. 

“The truck was seized. The bodies of the deceased will be handed over to their families after an autopsy,” the SI added.
