2 killed in Tejgaon slum fire

Two people were killed and several others injured in a fire at Mollabari slum adjacent to BFDC gate in the capital’s Tejgaon area early Saturday.  

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately. 

Mohammad Tajul Islam Chowdhury, Director (Operation and Maintenance) of Fire Service and Civil Defence confirmed the matter at a press conference.  

He said thirteen firefighting units rushed to the spot after being informed about the fire incident at 2:23am. The fire was brought under control at 3:40am. 

However, he could not confirm the reason behind the fire.
