147 BGB platoons deployed across the country
A total of 147 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed across the country amid the dawn-to-dusk blockade called by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and other opposition parties.
Md Shariful Islam, Public Relations Officer of the BGB, confirmed the matter to Jago News on Sunday morning.
He said a total of 147 platoons of BGB have been deployed across the country to maintain the law and order situation. Of them, 16 platoons have been deployed in Dhaka and its nearby districts.
It is mentionable that, BNP has been observing strike and blockade programmes since October 29 following the party’s thwarted grand rally in Dhaka on October 28 amid attacks by police and the ruling Awami League supporters.
