One dengue patient dies; 114 hospitalized in 24 hrs

One dengue patient died and 114 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours.

With the latest death, a total of 1,693 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said on Saturday.

Currently, 1,181 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 361 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 820 are in other divisions.

As many as 3,20,272 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 3,17,398 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
