Four killed as miscreants torch train in Dhaka
Four people, including a woman and her minor son, were killed as miscreants set a train on fire at Tejgaon Railway Station in the capital Dhaka early Tuesday.
Among the deceased, two were identified as Nadia Akter Popi, 35, wife of Mizanur Rahman, a resident of Tejkunipara in the capital's Tejgaon, and her three-year-old son Yeasin.
Torching the Dhaka-bound train of 'Mohanganj Express' was reported around 5 am, duty officer Rakibul Hasan at the control room of Fire Service and Civil Defence told Jago News.
Later, two units of firefighters went to the spot and brought the fire under control, he said.
Four people were killed in the fire and all the dead were passengers of the train, the official added.
Kamalapur Railway Police Station inspector Md Ferdous said four people died on the spot in the fire at the Mohanganj Express train at Tejgaon Rail Station.
Deceased Nadia's village home was Netrakona and she lived with her husband in Tejgaon Tejkunipara, he said.
The bodies were, however, sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue.
