Dhaka's rail communication with other parts suspended
Rail communication between the capital Dhaka and most other parts of the country has been suspended as a train derailed near Tejgaon Station in the city on Thursday evening.
Officer-in-Charge of Dhaka Railway Police Station Ferdous Ahmed Bishwas confirmed the matter to BSS.
He said the incident took place as the locomotive of the Dhaka-bound Titas commuter train hit a crane, which was engaged in the Dhaka Elevated Expressway project, around 5.30 pm.
Since the incident, he said, the rail communication between the capital and most other parts of the country has remained suspended.
No casualty was reported initially and operation is underway to resume the service soon, he added.
