Two dengue patients die; 537 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Two dengue patients died and 537 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours.

With the latest death, a total of 1,643 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said on Thursday.

Currently, 2,571 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 675 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 1,896 are in other divisions.

As many as 3,16,160 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 3,11,946 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
