154 BGB platoons, 424 RAB patrol teams deployed
A total of 154 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed across the country as the 48-hour countrywide blockade enforced by BNP and its allies is underway for the second consecutive day on Monday.
Shariful Islam, Public Relations Officer at BGB headquarters, confirmed the matter to Jago News on Monday.
He said, 154 BGB platoons have been deployed across the country to maintain law and order situation. Of them, 20 platoons have been deployed in Dhaka and adjoining districts.
Meanwhile, a total of 424 patrol teams of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have also been deployed across the country.
RAB’s Legal and Media Wing Senior Assistant Director ANM Imran Khan confirmed the matter to Jago News.
RAB detectives have continued to patrol important places including bus stands, and railway stations to prevent any kind of sabotage and violence, the elite force officer said.
