Bus torched in Dhanmondi on 1st day of hartal
Miscreants torched a passenger bus in Dhanmondi area of capital Dhaka on Sunday night on the first day of the 48-hour hartal enforced by BNP and its allies.
Fire Service and Civil Defence control room duty officer Rashed Bin Khalid said they received information that a bus of 'Mirpur Super Link Paribahan' was set on fire in front of Anwer Khan Modern Medical College around 8:20 pm.
Two units of the firefighters were heading toward the spot, he added.
Earlier, BNP announced a two-day dawn-to-dusk hartal on Sunday and Monday across the country protesting the declaration of the next general elections' schedule.
