Six dengue patients die; 1291 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Six dengue patients died and 1,291 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours.

With the latest death, a total of 1,549 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said on Sunday.

Currently, 4,949 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 1,227 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 3,722 are in other divisions.

As many as 3,01,255 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 2,94,757 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
