Intercity train torched in Jamalpur
Miscreants set fire to three compartments of the Jamuna Express train, which was stationed at Sarishabari railway station in Jamalpur in the early hours of Sunday.
The incident occurred at 1:20am.
Talha Bin, Media Cell Officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence, confirmed the matter to Jago News.
He said being informed two firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control in one hour. It could not be confirmed who set fire to the three compartments of the train.
Tara Miah, Sub Inspector of Jamalpur Railway Police Station, said the miscreants set fire to the train when it reached Sarishabari from Dhaka. No casualty was reported as there was no passenger in the train.
Earlier on Thursday, miscreants set fire to a commuter train at Tangail railway station.
