Four of a family killed in Cox's Bazar wall collapse
Four members of a family were killed in a wall collapse in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar early Friday.
The deceased were Anwara Begum, 50, wife of Fakir Ahmed, their son Saidul Mostafa, 20, and daughters Nilufar Begum, 18, and Sadia Begum, 11.
Hnila union parishad chairman Rashed Mohammad Ali said they were informed that four people were killed in a mud wall collapse and they were trying to know the details.
Nur Mohammad Ashique, a local primary school teacher, said the mud wall of Mohammad Fakir's house at Marichyaghona of Moulvibazar under the union collapsed around 2 am during incessant rain when the family members were asleep.
After Fajr prayers, the locals noticed it and recovered four bodies from the mudslide, he added.
