12 dengue patients die; 1470 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Twelve dengue patients died and 1,470 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours.

With the latest death, a total of 1,496 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said on Tuesday.

Currently, 5,905 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 1,555 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 4,350 are in other divisions.

As many as 2,95,042 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 2,87,641 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
