10 dengue patients die; 1748 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Ten dengue patients died and 1,748 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours.

With the latest death, a total of 1,476 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said on Sunday.

Currently, 6,183 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 1,588 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 4,595 are in other divisions.

As many as 2,91,832 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 2,84,173 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
