Youth gets life for killing child after abduction
A court in Narayanganj has sentenced a young man to life-term imprisonment for the murder of a child after abduction.
The lifer is Nazmul Huda Liyon, 28, from Bhelpopa area in Palashbari upazila of Gaibandha. He lived in a rented house in Bholail Shantinagar area of Fatulla in Narayanganj.
Narayanganj Women and Children Repression Tribunal Judge Nazmul Haque Shyamol delivered the verdict.
The court also fined him Tk 50,000, the court police's inspector Asaduzzaman Roy told Jago News.
The case statement said Liyon abducted Ahad Babu, son of Abdul Majid, a resident of Bholail Shantinagar area of Fatulla, on September 26, 2018.
On the following day, Munshiganj Sadar Police informed Majid that Ahad was dumped in the river.
Later, police arrested Liyon over the incident.
