Bus torched in front of police outpost in Dhaka

Miscreants set a minibus on fire in front of a police outpost at Kakoli in Dhaka on Wednesday night on the first day of a fresh 48-hour nationwide blockade of road, rail, and waterways enforced by BNP, and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.

Rashed Bin Khalid, duty officer at the control room of Fire Service and Civil Defence, confirmed the matter to Jago News.

Being informed around 8:08 pm, two units from Kurmitola Fire Station went to the spot and doused the blaze, he said.

Earlier around 7:30 pm, miscreants torched a bus of 'Dishari Paribahan' at Tatibazar intersection in the capital.

Later, two units from Sadarghat Fire Station went to the scene and put up the fire.

BNP, and Jamaat observed a dawn-to-dusk hartal across the country on October 29 after the attacks and clashes around the party's grand rally in the capital on October 28.

After the hartal, BNP, and Jamaat observed blockade programs in two phases - three days in the first phase and two days in the second phase.

After the two phases, another 48-hour blockade was announced for Wednesday and Thursday that is underway.
