Covered van torched in Gazipur

Miscreants set a covered van on fire in Gazipur early Wednesday on the first day of the BNP’s nationwide 48-hour rail, road, and waterways blockade.

The incident took place on Dhaka bypass road at Golan area of Nagri union in Kaliganj upazila.  

Md Fayezur Rahman, Officer-in-charge of Kaliganj Police Station, confirmed the matter to Jago News. 

Atikur Rahman, Duty officer of Kaliganj Fire Service, said the miscreants set the covered van on fire around 5am and fled the spot. At that time, the vehicle’s driver and his helper were injured. The covered van was heading to Gazipur carrying the products of Fresh company. 

Receiving the information at 6:10am, a team led by Kaliganj Fire Service Commander Mostafizur Rahman brought the fire under control in 20 minutes.
